Usually not - if you can the developer to fix it ...

But just for the future, how to report a bug in debian:
reportbug, I think, is the tool.

reportbug packagename and it will help to file a correct bug report to the
debian bug tracking system. You do not have to be signed up for anything, it
asks for a email address at the most.
