Yes.
But what exactly is a '2.4 kernel distro'?
usually things that are tightly connected to your running kernel are
hardware-related, and you're supposed to run them in master vserver.
That would be things like module loading/module-init-tools, hardware
drivers, block drivers like lvm10/lvm2 etc, besides that, everything should
run fine with 2.6 kernel.
