A while back I was asked to post the RH 8.0 minimum list that I had
come up with.
I took the Red Hat howto posted by Mark Sutton
http://www.paul.sladen.org/vserver/archives/200212/0152.html
And used it as base and used his package list as base helping me get
the RH 8.0 minimum.

Just keep in mind. These are straight from the RH 8 cd and this list
is NOT guaranteed to give you a secure vserver.
There are also a bunch of not needed perl packages but if this server
is going to be used for hosting then there in my opinion and
experience never to many perl modules. As well there are a few utils
that isn't necesary but sure makes life easier for the vserver user
(wget, ncftp, telnet)
Please install up2date and use it to keep you machine save

be used for webhosting, mailservice, database server or dns server.
Word of caution install up2date and update your system when your done
installing and periodically run up2date to keep your system secure.
