I have never used the Install from CD options - I tried on my Gentoo
based vserver, but it didn't fly to say the least. I've always just
taken a tar -zcf server.tar.gz / --exclude=/proc and put that in it's
own /vservers/server folder - and copied existing
/etc/vservers/server.conf and server.sh files. That works fine, so NO
vserver itself is not only backwards compatible. The install from CD
option appereantly has some bugs though.
