So it sounds like this problem is a lot more common than I thought!

One more difference between my two vserver machines occurred to me last night. The stable one doesn't have any vservers running with the "sched" S_FLAG. The unstable one has several, and I'm trying to remember if I did the first one about the time I started seeing the problem.

I'm about to turn sched off on the vservers on the unstable machine, but would appreciate it if other folks could take a look. Is there a larger correlation here, or is it just wishful thinking? :)

p.s. If anyone with some kernel skills wants gory details on my servers for purposes of looking at this problem, you're very welcome to it.
