I have to apologize with you all for writing:

as I should have RTFM (as in read the fine manuals) more thoroughly in
the first place.

If turns that tomcat4 can be configured for the ip address (parameter
address in the specific connector in server.xml) and that it works quite
well inside vserver.

Having a loopback however will be a nice addition ;-)
